Ross's custom Soma Wolverine
Projects like these are our absolute favorite. Our new friend Ross dropped by last month to talk touring bikes. In his younger days he was known to do some bike touring and has spent a fair bit of time hiking on the Appalachian Trail as well.
These days he is thinking about getting back into bike touring. His time on the AT gave him an appreciation for packing light, so his goal for a touring bike was to build something that can be ridden over a variety of road surfaces with a sensible and lightweight load of gear.
After taking a spin on Jim's Soma Wolverine he fell in love. After a week of planning and sourcing parts we came up with this awesome build.
From the simplicity of the Sram 1x11 wide range drivetrain to the tubeless WTB wheels with Schwalbe dirt road friendly tires every detail on this bike was carefully thought out. The end result is something rather awesome.
