Lift back the veil that hides you and me
-Jeremy Enigk: Summertime
Summertime in Richmond is often a little hotter than ideal, but it’s a small price to pay for all those other intangibles that make riding here when the days are long so special. The right bike for the season can be everything.
Tamara picked up this Endpoint Coffee Grinder before she joined the team here, but she clearly fits right in.
It’s not surprising that a large percentage of the Outpost staff, both past and present, own an Endpoint.
The same architect of Outpost is part of the duo that created this brand back in 2013 after all.
We set out to design the perfect “Richmond road bike” and named it after the Saturday morning ride we were all doing at the time.
Fast but stable road geometry? Check. Clearance for gravel tires? Yep.
Comfortable and responsive steel frame? Of course.
These days the idea of an “endurance road bike” that clears big tires is pretty commonplace, but 13 years ago it wasn’t a thing. So I’ll come right out and brag that we were ahead of our time.
But this isn’t about the brand; this is about the bike and the rider.
Tamara has been putting this machine through its proper paces since day one. She's completed multiple gravel events (including dirtbags100), some bikepacking journeys, and of course the daily mixed surface adventures that are unique to Richmond.
At the time we built this out, we specced a SRAM 2x11 drivetrain with gravel gearing (46/30 chainrings up front and 11-34 cassette in the back), a carbon FSA cockpit and Prologo saddle. No real frills. Just things that work.
Currently, Tamara is rolling on some Fulcrum carbon wheels on loan from the boss’s wheel library and the brand-new Updraft from Teravail. Both of which she is stoked on.
You’ll probably see her out riding. Don’t forget to wave.
