Winter Training Series/ 2020 Preview.
The beginning of a new year is always a good time to reflect and look forward.
In 2019 we spent plenty of miles exploring and adventuring. From backpacking trips and gravel races to 200-kilometer journeys and short rides to new places, it was a full year of two-wheeled fun.
In 2020 you can definitely expect more of the same and then some. We have two bike camping trips planned, some new gravel group rides, and more epic adventures.
We know some of these rides can seem like a big commitment, and to be honest, they are.
We’ve had more than a couple of people tell us that some of the long rides look fun but just seem a little too long. We have been listening and for this year we’re trying something new.
Realistically, there isn’t a good way to simply shorten some of our 200k brevet style rides. Many of the best parts are just too far away from Richmond. So, rather than shorten the rides, we’re going to help you build the skills and endurance to tackle them.
It’s not like one day we just decided to go ride 130 miles. Nope, there were plenty of shorter rides that led up to that.
So, starting in January, we’re offering a free program to help you build up to doing some of our premier long-distance rides. This is going to take the shape of a three month period of increasing distance rides and some clinic days at the shop to discuss everything from equipment to nutrition and even fit on the bike.
As the cliche goes, if you follow these easy steps you too can join the Outpost Adventure Club on an epic ride and live to tell the tale.
So for 2020 make it the year you challenge yourself to ride further. To go places on two wheels you have never been. To ride just outside of your comfort zone and enjoy it.
The first ride of our winter training series is this Saturday the 25th of January check-out the Facebook event Here.
