Bike Check; George's Cinelli Vigorelli, road disc.
Crit racers come in all sizes. When you are not one over six feet and 180lbs who benefits from the corresponding max power,...
You draw on your track racing background and take the steps to make sure your aerodynamic drag is at the absolute minimum.
George has done exactly that with his Cinelli Vigorelli road bike. All the boxes are checked. Super narrow bars to bring in the hands and shoulders.
We recently custom assembled some 155mm length cranks to open up the hips and allow for a very aggressive position on the saddle.
Even what would normally be considered a triathlon saddle. When it all comes together, you would almost think George is using aerobars.
The rest of the bike is pure privateer racer common sense. Sram’s 2x11 mechanical drivetrain is a perennial favorite here at Outpost because it’s reasonably light and just plain works.
The end result is one of the most efficient positions on the bike you will see on certain Tuesday evenings during the summer at Bryan Park.
