Lipka's All-City Nature Boy A.C.E. SS Cross Destroyer.

Sadly, three days before the premier cyclocross race in town, Mike managed to destroy ss frame.  This past week we just wrapped up building one of the all-new All-City Nature Boy ACE frames for Mike. Over the past year...

"My First 200k", Guest blog from Thomas Scott.

"You’d think that riding a bike 130 miles would be murder." I mean, everyone who asked me how it was, has asked with an air of incredulity, so I assume you’d think that, too. But maybe you wouldn’t. I dunno. What I do know is...

For the fifth year in a row, Swift Campout is on the horizon. And for the second year Outpost Richmond is participating. Swift Campout is a global call for folks all over the world to go bike-camping on June 22nd. Pack your camp gear and...

Little Things Matter, Crane Bell Review.

Now that the weather is warm the number of people out and about is quite a bit higher. From riding the JRPS single track to just crossing the T-Pot bridge, if you’re on a bike, there is a pretty good chance you will be encountering hikers, walkers, flocks of beagles,...

Phaedra's Soma Buena Vista Disc, 650b Commuter.

Our story as a bicycle shop is really the story of our customers. Here is the story of Phaedra and her Soma Buena Vista. Describe yourself as a bicyclist. I started cycling seriously about 15 years ago to compete in triathlons. I moved from that to road racing for several years, and for about the last 5 years

Compass Tires, Switchback Hill / Review.

In early January I headed out to Cumberland State Forest to do a little recon and mapping for a spring gravel ride. I took this opportunity to finally test out a pair of the Switchback Hills tire from Compass Cycles.  This tire is a tubeless ready 650bx48mm slick that is touted to be ideal for a variety of surfaces.

Robert's Niner RLT 9 Gravel Crusher.

Our story as a bicycle shop is really the story of our customers. Here is the story of Roberts and his Niner RLT 9. Tell me a little about yourself.  I started riding as an alternative to many years of running.  As a result, I now have several bikes, but don’t own a pair of running shoes.

Ben's Custom 650b Marin Nicasio; Go anywhere build.

Our story as a bicycle shop is really the story of our customers. Here is the story of Ben and his Marin Nicasio. So who exactly is Ben Buhrman anyway? I'm a person who stumbled into riding mountain bikes a couple of years ago, which led to me spending lots of money on broken bike parts. This led to me getting into other forms of cycling, which led to me owning more bikes with parts to break!

Three Years of Bikes, Food, Beer & Wine, and...

In 2015 I started with a simple enough idea. I wanted to take the conventional idea of the bicycle shop and scrap it. After years of working in shops, I knew that bike shops could be intimidating,...

Reuse Me, Reuse Me, Reuse Me,... New Reusable Bags.

Since opening in late 2015 we have only used recycled paper bags and given away 1500 reusable polyester bags. The first version of our reusable bags admittedly were not made from recycled plastic...

The Norco Search XR Carbon/ Review.

Sometimes it is hard to start a review when the product is so incredibly good. Between not wanting to come off as biased or just being floored by how perfectly executed things are it can be surprisingly difficult. This is absolutely the case with the Norco Search XR carbon.

Outpost Adventure Club/ Chippokes Campout Recap.

"This past Saturday members of the Outpost Adventure Club and others loaded up their bikes and set out from the shop to embark on an overnight bike camping trip to Chippokes Plantation State Park." Under mostly sunny skies our group rolled along the fields and forests of eastern Henrico and Charles City counties. The Capital Trail is always the most pleasant way to head east and this day was no different.
